I was given a book on bible illustrations from Lucas Cranach’s workshop from 1534. Fascinating woodcuts about hell and damnation. I myself grew up with the friendly children’s bible of Catholicism: a shocking contrast. I have made a large number of paintings about the landscapes depicted in these medieval woodcuts. Executed in pastels, acrylics and embroidery.
